Connect Hermes to Sesame

Run these commands on the machine where Hermes runs.

Before you start

sesame login
sesame proxyd install

Add your provider secrets in the Sesame dashboard before starting Hermes.

Install Hermes, then launch it through Sesame:

curl -fsSL https://hermes-agent.nousresearch.com/install.sh | bash
source ~/.zshrc  # or: source ~/.bashrc
sesame launch -- hermes

For a gateway:

sesame launch -- hermes gateway run

Start Hermes normally, then let Sesame detect its Desktop, gateway, service, or terminal process:

sesame onboard hermes --dry-run
sesame onboard hermes

Sesame shows what it found before restarting supported processes. Confirm the prompt to continue.

New processes must also start through Sesame:

sesame launch -- hermes

If Hermes Desktop was reopened from the Dock, or Hermes is already running:

sesame onboard hermes

Bare interactive terminal sessions cannot be moved to another terminal automatically. Exit the session, then rerun it with sesame launch --.

sesame onboard hermes --verify-only

sesame egress uninstall

This preserves your Sesame login, agent registration, secrets, and policies.
